There are a ton of sunglasses out there. Thousands of brands, designs colors and styles. So how do you get some idea about what exactly you want? Well hopefully this site will give you some ideas. A good pair of sunglasses should last quite a while so it’s worth spending a little extra. Not only that, they will look better and offer more UV protection too. Some are even designed with certain purposes in mind like sports.
Take a look around our site to see all sorts of styles for both men and women. Start by clicking on the brands on the top menu and get exploring! W
AviatorsEveryone knows aviators right? One of the most popular styles which suit both men and women. They provide a good coverage of the face offering excellent sun protection but look incredibly cool. First made popular by movies like top gun they have since evolved. You can get several aviator style variations & colors although part of their charm is the semi retro rock & roll look that they maintain. You can’t go wrong with aviators.

Cat eye sunglasses are designed for women. They tilt upwards in the corners and also have an element of retroness to them. This however depends on the color & pattern. They can be good for all situations – casual or formal. They’re perhaps one of the most diverse styles for women – some are also good at getting that popular nerdy look.

We didn’t know what else to call this range of sunglasses apart from big! You know the ones we mean, they are sometimes called oversized sunglasses and can come in several shapes. They can be completely rounded, butterfly shaped, large rectangles, or ovals. They are mostly worn by women and synonymous with fashion and glamour. All the big brands make this style in one form or another.

These are mostly worn by men and have become very popular within the last few years. However in reality they are an updated version of the 80s versions of these sunglasses. They usually have a simple design; they look cool but aren’t overly flashy or obtrusive (depending on color!). Therefore they are great for casual and formal situations alike. They’re pretty reliable due to their simple design too.

The visor and wrap around style sunglasses are really two different brands. As you can guess from the name they go part of the way around the head so give excellent protection from the sun at all angles. However some are really tall (similar to the Big style above) and others are thinner (usually made for sports use). There are numerous designs, some suited for men, some women. They are a good combination of style and functionality.

There is a massive selection of retro sunglasses out there. Covering hundreds of styles. There are the rounded Beatles styles, the 90s over the top futuristic style (which makes them even more retro!) and the plain and simple classic styles. Many of the sunglasses mentioned above are updated versions of retro styles like the Aviators and Wayfarer, so in a way, loads of sunglasses can be considered retro.
There are of course loads of sunglasses which can’t really be put into a style. They are a mixture of everything. There are some truly unique and custom designs out there.
Different styles and colors suit people differently. It all depends on the shape of your head & body. Your skin tone also matters too.

The price of sunglasses can vary a lot. Even with sunglasses part of the same brand. You do pay for the quality materials used (like stainless steel hinges which aren’t brittle) but you will of course pay for the brand too. There are limited edition / special edition sunglasses which will be released from time to time. This will be more expensive too because there will only be a fixed number made. With these you can expect the value to go up.
For a good pair of designer sunglasses you can expect to pay between $80-$300. There are however much more expensive ones. You can pay several thousand if they contain precious materials. We wouldn’t advise you paying that much because of the risk of you losing them!
Is the cost worth it? Well that depends on what you want them for. If you just want something to protect your eyes then you probably don’t need designer eye wear. But if you’ve fashion conscious, want to look stylish or just want a cool pair that will last, then they’re well worth it. You can get some good deals looking online – they tend to be much more expensive going to a real shop, as with everything.
The popularity of sunglasses, much of the time, are dictated by celebrities. If they get mentioned in a music video or someone is pictured with them in public they instantly begin selling even more. The same can be said for loads of fashion accessories. Just think about it – how many times do you see celebrities pictured wearing sunglasses? In music videos for example you will usually at least one person wearing a pair! But film and sports provides an equal amount of opportunities to show off style. They’re nearly always designer ones too!
